The draft regional planning guidance (RPG8) will steer East Midlands' development up to 2021 and will tie in with the region's new economic strategy. It contains policies aimed at promoting sustainable growth and targets use of renewable energy, sustainable design and floodplain development. Housing targets remain unchanged.
