High activity in the housing market - 2003 - Rightmove Real-Time Property Report 15 April 2003 (5) .

April's "Rightmove real-time property report" shows a continued slowdown of the residential property market with the annual rate of change in asking price decreasing from 22.5% in March 2003 to 17.8% in April 2003 despite a 0.5% increase in the month. Sharp decreases are forecast in the next two months. The number of properties coming onto the market remains high while the number coming off the market has increased sharply. With higher stock availability levels, the market has moved very much in the buyer's favour. Regional house price data reveals negative growth rates in East Anglia and East Midlands, London coming in-line with national house price changes for the first time in a year and modest rises in western areas and Wales.
