Quarterly Industry Trends Survey published by the CBI shows a decline in orders along with a fall in domestic demand. Total orders were down more than expected with 37% of firms reporting a fall while 16% reported a rise and with orders expected to continue the downward trend. CBI Director-General stressed that a recession was not predicted but another interest cut is needed as inflation is so subdued.
