EU Animal By-Products Regulation comes into force which tightens the rules on the processing, disposal, use and import of animal by-products. The regulation includes action to ban the routine burial of stock, to allow the treatment of animal by-products and to maintain the UK ban on swill feeding. There are also a number of transitional measures from the European Commission such as the use of small incinerators which do not burn specific material.
