[2003] EWCA Civ 529, 11 April 2003. Appeal by the operator and owner appellant (C) of a nightclub on a former ferry from the decision of the LT that the vessel and the adjoining land were rateable under the Local Government Finance Act 1988. The vessel was moored on the River Tyne in Gateshead. The LT's decision was based upon the findings that the vessel was stationary and that C's occupation of it had the same degree of permanence and exclusiveness as a nightclub built on dry land. "Held", the appeal was dismissed.
