Building control performance standards updated - 2003 - RICS Building Control Forum News 21 May 2003 (1) .

ODPM has updated its "Building control performance standards" which should be adopted by local authorities and approved inspectors. The guidance codifies existing best practice, emphasising self-review and continuous improvement and states that the building control function is the same whether carried out by local authority or approve inspector. The standards cover policy, resources, consultation, assessment of plans as well as site inspection, certificates at completion, records archiving, CPD, performance review, quality management, business ethics and complaints procedures.
