The British Antique Dealers' Association (BADA) in its annual survey of trading activity by its members in 2001-02 reports that over 40% of members had experienced a drop of sales by up to 10%.The survey was completed by 58% of its membership. The fall in sales figures is reflected across all sectors of the market with furniture, silver and jewellery showing the largest falls. The absence of Amercian buyers is cited as the primary reason for the shortfall. BADA dealers' sales to the United States was only 37% of total sales compared with 43% in 2001.
