Reports on the progress made by the Environment Agency's Landfill Directive project in implementing the Landfill Directive and addresses key industry concerns. Highlights the achievement of meeting the first directive deadline, the submission of site conditioning plans by landfill operators, and outlines Environment Agency efforts to communicate with the industry. Suggests that key industry misconceptions concern the Landfill Directive Regulatory Guidance Notes (LFD RGN) and attempts to clarify the contents of LFD RGNs 3, 6 and 16.
