Investigates a new website Propertysearch.com which charges a monthly fee to access eight of Britain's largest residential property portals including Assertahome, Primelocation and Rightmove that are normally free to use. It is essentially a search engine that produces the combined results from the portals for the search criteria entered and then diverts the user into the relevant source site if full details of a particular property are required. Although its initial aim is to help agents and valuers to find comparables in an area, its ultimate goal is to simplify the shortlisting process for buyers. This development has not been welcomed by the source sites and they do not share Propertysearch.com's own optimism about its long-term growth.
