RICS has responded to the government's consultation on the contents of the home information pack (HIP). RICS supports the inclusion of a core set of information and a home condition report, with nothing in the pack being optional. Responses to standard searches should be no more than three months old at the time marketing commences. The new system must be properly regulated with significant additional resources provided to achieve it.
