Figures from the Federation of Master Builders' "State of trade survey" for the second quarter 2003 reveal a 38% increase in the workload of small and medium-sized construction companies, representing the 16th successive quarter of growth. Future predictions for employment and new business are positive although a continued shortage of skilled labour remains an issue.
