Statistics for brownfield land available for development

The "National Land Use Database of Previously-Developed Land for 2002" shows that the total amounts were very similar to those in 2001, showing 65 000 hectares of brownfield land available for development. The estimates are compiled from information on individual sites supplied by local authorities in England and give a snapshot for 31 March 2002. This is now an annual survey, initiated in 1998.
