Tender prices for construction work are expected to rise significantly faster than inflation over the next five years according to the Building Cost Information Service's (BCIS) latest five-year forecast, rising by 27% against a background of 13% general inflation. The public non-housing and infrastructure sectors will create the main stimulus for growth during the forecast period but the forecast is based on the prompt release of public funds and the government's commitment to construction expenditure.
