Doing good business
Wilson, D.
Doing good business - 2003 - Management Today August 2003, 54-55(2) .
Defends the role of business and the private sector in general. Notes that chairman, directors and chief executives of companies are often unpopular as reflected by a recent MORI poll and in public opinion. Points out that the private sector generates profits that get put back into the economy and these benefit the whole society. Argues that business should be more effective in pointing out their advantages to the community but these efforts are often distorted by the actions of a few irresponsible ones. Suggests that corporate social responsibility should be more widely adopted.
