From 4 September 2003 the time limit for applicants lodging a planning, listed building or conservation area consent appeal has been reduced from six months to three months. In addition to routine consultation with statutory consultees being speeded up, planning authorities will have to give reasons for granting planning permission, listed building or conservation area consent.
