Between the last quarter of 1998 and the second quarter of 2003, the IPD Monthly Index showed the value of standard shops grew by 9%. Over the same period the Jones Lang LaSalle/IPD/ARAS (Auction Results Analysis System) Property Price Index revealed retail property prices increasing by 43%. Discusses how this has happened and whether the divergence will continue.
