English Nature calls for more homes

English Nature calls for more homes - 2003 - Estates Gazette (0337) 13 September 2003, 36(1) English Nature Press Release 10 September 2003 (2) .

English Nature has said that low-density housing provides a better environment for wildlife than arable-intensive farmland. The organisation believes that both development and agricultural policy and practice need to be sustainable. English Nature holds that sustainable agricultural land management is better than housing development for the English countryside and that agricultural policy needs to change to counter 50 years of intensive farming practices. Building developments also need to consider land use and incorporate green space for people and wildlife. http://www.englishnature.org/news/story.asp?ID=516
