83% of respondents in the "Small business service omnibus survey 2003" commissioned by the Scottish Executive said that their businesses were doing well and 21% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) employ more people than a year earlier. 63% of respondents said they would encourage others to set up in business with the transport and construction sectors most positive.
