Breaking the link between economic growth and environmental pollution. - 2003 - DEFRA News Release (397/03) 25 September 2003 (3) .

A joint discussion document launched by DEFRA and DTI is the starting point for the government's long-term programme to deliver commitments made at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002. "Changing patterns: UK government framework for sustainable consumption and production" proposes breaking the link between economic growth and environmental pollution, optimising resource usage, focusing on areas where environmental damage is greatest, considering the whole life-cycle of a product, increasing consumer product and service information and government use of a range of tools to stimulate innovation and investment in cleaner technology. The framework document is available at http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/business/scp/. http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2003/030925a.htm
