Better Building Summit organised by ODPM, DTI and Defra brought together key players to join up with government and move forward the pledges in the Sustainable Communities Plan and the Energy White Paper. Plans were also unveiled to raise national standards for water conservation by 2005 and there was notification of a £5bn housing allocation for the governments commitment to affordable housing.
