Discusses a new report based on an evaluation of builders' and local authority building control officers' attitudes and responses to Part M of the Building Regulations in relation to its application to dwellings. It concludes that the regulation is often poorly interpreted and variably enforced, which leads to an unsatisfactory outcome for the design of new housing stock.
