Pub securitisation: what next?
Cox, M.
Pub securitisation: what next? - 2003 - Journal of Retail and Leisure Property 3(2) 2003, 130-141(12) .
Provides an introduction to the basic concept of pub securitisation, the method by which pubs increasingly are being financed. It summarises the history and processes of pub securitisation, gives an update on the market, looks at the securitisation of managed pubs, alternatives to securitisation and the potential impacts of the Enterprise Act 2002, which came into force on 15 September 2003. Concludes that pub securitisation is here to stay in a sector, which continues to consolidate and that the extension of securitisation to managed pubs will depend on the attractiveness of alternative sources of finance. Figures illustrate the pub sector issuance timeline, pub securitisation structure, sale and leaseback, sale and manage-back and the bank loan method.
