The price of new construction work has been rising by less than the rate of inflation, according to the latest tender price index compiled by the Building Cost Information Service (BCIS). Public sector funding is expected to be the key force behind growth in new work output over the forecast period, with strong growth by new work output, before growth slows to a little below trend in 2004 and 2005.
