There are less that 40 000 people trained in the skills required to maintain and repair the 430 000 listed buildings in England. English Heritage together with the Construction Industry Training Board and National Heritage Training Group (NHTG) have launched a business plan to attract more people to the sector. Skills highlighted include stone masonry, fibrous plastering and lead sheet working.
