Overview of recent discussions on the government review of heritage protection in England. The review will encompass the whole subject of heritage and areas covered will include listed building designation and an overhaul of the planning system. Particular note needs to be taken of the way in which buildings can be demolished or altered without due regard. The views of English Heritage have been sought and the consultation process ended on 31 October 2003.
