HBOS plc has issued its economic forecast on the prospects for the UK housing , mortgages and savings markets in 2004. It predicts an 8% annual rate of house price inflation in 2004 and 2004 will again be the 'year of the north' for rising house prices. The mortgage lending growth rate is likely to ease in 2004. UK households will be getting wealthier with the saving ratio continuing to recover from the historic low of 2000.
