RICS is currently in negotiations with the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) about merging operations. Discussions are at an early stage. No final decisions will be reached without consultation of both memberships. RICS and ICES already collaborate on joint projects. Closer working would be in the interest of all surveyors working in geospatial engineering and commercial management in the civil engineering sector.
