Two articles on integrated pollution control. The first, "Europe's new pollution inventory - a benchmark for industry performance",highlights the European Pollutant Emission Register which provides data on pollution from more than 9 000 of Europe's major industrial facilities and the environmental performance of businesses in member states. Argues that the register could become an important tool for benchmarking corporate performance. The second article, "Life at the sharp end: chemical firms grapple with IPPC", shows how three organic chemicals companies and their environmental managers are dealing with preparing for the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) regime.
