Examines an issue in English land law where many interests can exist in the same piece of land at the same time. Considers two cases "Besley and Others v John" ([2003] EWCA Civ 1737, [2003] All ER (D) 481 (Oct)) and "Well Barn Shoot Ltd v Shacklton" ([2003] EWCA Civ 02, Abs66462) which involve profits à prendre, the right to take something which is capable of ownership from another person's land. The two examples concern grazing rights and sporting rights.
