Partnership for remote European regions

Partnership for remote European regions - 2004 - RICS Brussels Briefing 31 May 2004, (1) .

The European Commission is proposing a stronger partnership with the most remote regions of the Union. The new strategy focuses on three main themes - competitiveness, accessibility and regional integration - and forms part of the reform of the EU's cohesion policy for 2007-13. The outermost regions are the four French overseas departments (Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique and Réunion), the Spanish autonomous community of the Canary Islands and the Portuguese autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira.
