Risky business

Ross, S.

Risky business - 2004 - Fire Engineers' Journal 64(246) July 2004, 41-42(2) .

Explains the reasons why health and safety issues should be considered with good risk management. Suggests management of fire risk can be divided into risk to life and risk to assets. Discusses how the use of composite panels has increased the fire risks in some commercial buildings. Concludes that often the most costly consequence of a fire is the cost of loss of business and suggests the client, insurer and broker can work together so that the risks can be understood and fairly priced.
