Comments on a survey by business information provider Croner which showed that eight in 10 employees are ignoring new government guidelines by failing to deal with employee stress. These guidelines from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will become compulsory by late 2004. Gives an example of the firm DTZ which has been providing additional resources to help its staff cope with the pressures of work and where there is now a confidential helpline open for employees 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Also includes various signs which may warn of stress and more details on what measures the HSE is taking to solve it.
