The regeneration is being driven forward by Sir Howard Bernstein, Chief Executive of Manchester Council and the group of developers and designers whom he has worked with for more than 15 years. There are challenges ahead such as how to ensure that all the citizens of Manchester benefit from the investment, some of the areas here are very disadvantaged, the Harpurhey district in north Manchester is the most deprived neighbourhood in England.
