Volume housebuilders start to dig brownfield

Dixon, T.

Volume housebuilders start to dig brownfield - 2004 - Estates Gazette (0447) 20 November 2004, 154-155(2) .

Reports on recent College of Estate Management (CEM) research into the dynamics and role of residential and commercial property developers in relation to the assessment, remediation and reuse of brownfield land in the UK. Places brownfield development within the context of current government policy. CEM's major survey of developers in 2004 showed that almost three-quarters of respondents had actually built homes on land requiring remedial treatment. Tables cover the balance of housing completions and reasons for developing on brownfield sites. Concludes that brownfield development has entered the mainstream and is now widespread throughout the house building industry.
