Complying with regulations
Walker, D.
Complying with regulations - 2005 - Building Control March 2005, 17-19(3) .
Examines the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 which will soon replace legislation controlling the construction of buildings in Scotland. In 1992 regulations permitting the self-certification of structural design were introduced but the self certification option will be removed by the new regulations. The Act introduces the option of certification of compliance with the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004. This certification is rooted in the principle that suitably qualified and experienced building professionals can be made responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations. All legislation and guidance is published online at www.sbsa.gov.uk.
