Considers the forthcoming Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order which will move responsibility for fire prevention from fire authorities to employers, owners and occupiers. The Order will reinforce risk assessment principles introduced by the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 and amended 1999. Concludes that these responsible persons will need to ensure they revise their knowledge of fire safety law or else become liable for prosecution.
