Construction Act Review

Klein, Rudi

Construction Act Review - 2005 - Building 270(8376) 8 April, 53(1) .

Features four articles which deal with the DTI review of the Construction Act 1996. "Show me the money" outlines the possible shortcomings in the Act's payment provisions and mentions the DTI's proposals for this which include how contracts should inform the way payments should be determined and when a payment is to be assessed. "Away with the fairies" argues against the idea that adjudicators can rewrite laws and be made impartial. "What the review missed" discusses the concerns about the statutory payment and adjudication provisions of the Act but warns that the review fails to deal with them properly. In "When less isn't more" criticises the review for failing to address certain key areas like the lack of a single procedure for adjudications
