Knowledge management for sustainable competitiveness in small and medium surveying practices
Egbu, Charles O.
Knowledge management for sustainable competitiveness in small and medium surveying practices - 2005 - Structural Survey 23(1) 2005, 7-21(15) .
Using a thorough review of literature, the paper discusses the benefits of Knowledge Management (KM) for sustainable competitiveness in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Highlights the role of strategies, tools and techniques. Concludes that managing knowledge in SMEs is not a simple task as it is a complex and integrated social process which has many structures at its core. Gives recommendations to surveying practices that are already involved with KM activities, including the fact that KM events must be identified, captured, stored, mapped, disseminated and created in order to provide the best possible benefits to organisations.
