Patterson, Lindy
But there's a snag - 2005 - Construction News (6913) 21 April 2005, 19(1) .
Discusses the procedures for identifying and claiming for defective work. Notes that the contract should have a procedure for defects but this varies prior to and post practical completion. When a job is ongoing, most standard form contracts lay down procedures where the architect or contract administrator can order the defective work to be removed or fixed (eg. JCT 98 clause 8). Beyond the defects liability period there is an ongoing liability for latent defects.
