Case law: Lewis v Eliades

Ross, Jonathan

Case law: Lewis v Eliades - 2005 - Property Week 70(16) 22 April 2005, 71(1) .

Discusses the case "Lennox Lewis v Panos Eliades" (L129671) in which Lennox Lewis sought to enforce a judgment made in the US against the defendant, his former manager, by seeking a sale of a property owned by the manager. Eliades claimed not to have any interest in the property since the property was in the name of another person, Mr Kassides (married to E's cousin). However Eliades could not prove how his cousin had been able to afford such a property and the court ruled that putting property in another party's name will not prevent a creditor ruling against that property.
