Research from retail analyst Verdict shows that the UK average out-of-town retail rent rose 7% to £23 per sq ft, the highest rate for four years. Verdict forecasts that the trend will continue as clothing retailers fight for space and that spending at traditional high street retailers in out-of-town locations will increase by 50% to £12bn over the next four years.
