Crossrail will bring plusses and minuses for London's office market - 2005 - Property Forecast 8(4) April 2005, 8-10(3) .

The proposal to build a new mass transit rail system through central London is expected to prove beneficial for office investors holding property along its route. Closer investigation, from a property perspective, shows the outlook is more complicated. Questions whether values will rise and looks at the Jubilee Line extension study into the affect on property values before and after its construction. Looks at areas of opportunity with Crossrail and how the project will affect construction costs on developments that it crosses. Concludes that Crossrail, like other major new mass transit systems, will have a mixed effect and areas not previously crossed by such a system will have the highest rise in values.
