Notes that falls from height are the largest cause of accidental death in the construction industry and accounts for half of the fatalities. The risks and precautions available are well known with the HSE publishing clear guidance explaining safe working procedures. From 6 April 2005, the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996 were replaced by the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
