Discusses the recent case "Great Eastern Hotel Company Ltd v John Laing Construction Ltd" ([2005] EWHC 181 (TCC), L129378) which was probably the first time that a construction manager has been found to be publicly in breach of his obligations and liable to his client. This has clear implications for construction managers, but does not mark the beginning of the end for construction management.
