Points out that any surveyor giving expert evidence to a judicial body in the UK is required to comply with the RICS Practice Statement, "Surveyors acting as Expert Witnesses" and application of this document extends to a range of judicial and quasi-judicial bodies beyond the High, Crown and magistrates courts such as leasehold valuation tribunals. Advises that a party seeking the relevant expert should make careful enquiries of short-listed surveyors to verify the full details of their RICS qualifications.
