Considers the implications of the county court case, "Christie Owen and Davies plc v Ryelance" ([2005] 18 EG 148 (CS)), concerning the marketing of a care home. The case raised two points of general interest: firstly, the meaning of sole selling rights within the statutory definition contained in the Estate Agents (Provision of Information) Regulations 1991, in particular clause 5(b) and the meaning of an agent's introduction in this context and secondly, that commission may be payable despite the purchaser using an alternative vehicle for purchasing the property.
