DTI figures show that new construction orders increased 15% from March to May 2005, rising from £9.9bn for the same period in 2004 to £11.4bn. However this hides a decline in other public orders of 20%. Infrastructure and private industrial orders showed rises of 66% and 118% respectively. Tables.
