Quality guides spatial plans - 2005 - Planning (for the Natural and Built Environment) (1678) 15 July 2005, 5(1) .
The four principal government environmental advisers - the Countryside Agency, the Environment Agency, English Heritage and English Nature - have commissioned guidance to emphasis the role of planning in achieving a balanced and healthy environment. "Environmental quality in spatial planning" produced by David Tyldesley and Associates updates previous documents from the organisations and complements recent ODPM guidance. The new guidance sets out the agencies' vision of an objective-led approach to plans and strategies and their hopes for the reformed spatial strategy and more sustainable development. Lists the guidance's key messages and its vision of plan-making at all levels. While the emphasis is on England the guidance is equally applicable to Wales.
