Considers the varying powers of a contract administrator to grant an extension of time to a contractor under JCT and NEC contracts. Where such an extension is granted in error, it is argued that even if there is no provision in the contract for correction of the error, the administrator, by acting outside the terms of the contract, has not issued a valid extension, and can be compelled to withdraw his decision.
