Examines the impact on local authority surveyors of the implementation of the Single Status Agreement, which aims to create parity of employment across local authority workforces. It is argued that the adoption of single status, particularly the evaluation used to determine pay structures, when little or no recognition has been given to professional qualifications, has resulted in some cases in significant reductions in pay, and a consequent lowering of morale among local government surveyors'.
